The hotel was outdated, poorly...
- What did you like most?When we arrived, the Queen room we had originally booked wasn’t available due to what the front desk described as previous guests “destroying the bed.” To their credit, the staff handled the situation well and upgraded us to a Queen Suite at no extra charge. The suite had a beautiful lakefront view of Lake Michigan, which was definitely the highlight of our stay. The staff throughout our visit was kind and accommodating, and we appreciated their effort to make up for the inconvenience.
- Was there anything you didn't like?Unfortunately, the hotel itself feels very dated and appears not to have been remodeled in decades. The lobby sets the tone, and it could really use an update. Although our room was labeled a suite, the only feature that distinguished it was a mini fridge with a microwave placed on top in the corner, which actually made the space feel cramped. The desk was unusable for work since there were no nearby outlets for a laptop, and the Wi-Fi was extremely unreliable—we couldn’t even scroll through social media smoothly, let alone join work meetings. We ended up going to nearby cafés to get work done. The room overall looked worn, the rugs felt unclean, and even the hallways had uneven flooring that you could feel as you walked. The photos online do not accurately reflect the current condition of the property. Given the condition of the hotel, I’m surprised by its high rating. We considered changing hotels shortly after arriving and ultimately would not recommend staying here again.
