This boutique-style hotel in Berlin's Schöneberg district in centrally located, an 8-minute walk from the KaDeWe Department Store and Kurfürstendamm shopping boulevard. The Quentin Design Hotel is a 5-minute walk from Nollendorfplatz Underground station. The Quentin Design Hotel has air-conditioned rooms with an LED smart TV, hardwood floors and designer bathrooms. WiFi is provided free of charge in all the rooms and public areas. Located in a quiet side street, the Quentin Design Hotel Berlin is surrounded by bars and restaurants. Not satisfied with my stay.
- What did you like most?Location. Staff were generally amiable. Tall ceilings. Comfortable bed. Electric kettle and fridge in the room.
- Was there anything you didn't like?The hotel was poorly insulated for sound. You could hear every movement in the hallways from the room, which conversely would allow others to hear sound emitting from the room into the hallway; diminishing any opportunity for privacy. Whilst the rooms were more than sufficiently heated, I found the lack of humidity indoors to be a real problem. The extremely dry air caused irritation to my sinuses, which ultimately resulted in a very poor quality sleep. The room was dilapidated and in a worn condition. The finishings were marked, or coming apart at the seams, or displayed very visible signs of wear. The surfaces were not sufficiently cleaned, and displayed markings of use from previous guests along with copious amounts of dust. The couch and long stool were stained, as was the shower curtain. The overhead shower head had not been scrubbed to remove mineral deposits in some time. I had to scrub the shower head with my own sponge and soap to remove deposits in order to allow for a more steady water flow. Upon arrival at the hotel I was offered the option to pay an additional 30€ for an early check-in. As a guest who was staying at the property for 6 nights, it would have seemed reasonable to waive this fee. I understand it is part of their business model to charge for an early check-in, but it is something the property should consider forgoing for guests whose stay is longer than say just 2 or 3 nights. On the Friday of my stay I exited the room on time and requested that the room be turned. I came back to the property and found that no one had turned the room, despite my timely request and having given the hotel staff ample time to turn the room. The next morning the hotel staff called my room twice to discuss further the issue of the room having been overlooked, despite my having declared to reception that I had planned to sleep in and the ‘DND’ switch was displayed for my room.
